What Is Hot Linking?
Hot linking is when someone links directly to your images or content without going through your site. This is usually done by other sites or services which want to steal your content pics so they don't have to use there bandwidth. There are safety precautions to prevent this. Most hosting services can provide protection for you if you ask. There is also a .htaccess file for UNIX servers that will prevent this as well.

What Is .htaccess?
This is a file used to prevent hot linking of images and content. There are many forms of a .htaccess for many types of situations. These small files can be used to protect a entire site or just specific directorys. They can be configured to each persons specific needs.

What's A Lurker?
A lurker is someone who choses to read message boards or monitor chat rooms without actually posting a message or entering a chat. Persons who rather watch than participate.

What's SPAM?
In a nutshell spam is unsolicited and or unwelcomed correspondence.

What Are Traps, Trap Sites, Or CJ Sites?
Basically these are sites or pages designed to "trap" a surfer in a realm of endless advertising, pop-up consoles, and such as that. Basically trying to force the surfer into buying something. They can be as simple or complex as one wants them to be. Sometimes a surfer actually has to shut down there computer to get out of these traps.

What's A Partnership Program?
A partnership program is a mutual program between a sponsor and a webmaster for which the sponsor will pay the webmaster a certain percentage of the sales everytime a member joins and continues to renew there membership.

What Is a Pay-Per-Signup?
I pay-per-signup is similar to the partnership program. It's a mutual agreement between sponsor and webmaster. The different being you receive a 1 time payment for a membership vice a percentage.

What's Meta Tags?
A meta tag is a tag included into the head tag of your pages that contain the keywords and/or phrases that a surfer may use to find your page. These metas are picked up, recognized, and indexed by many search engines. These are what some search engines use to help them find specific pages related to a surfers search.

What's Cloaking?
These are specially designed scripts used to hide the source information of your pages so as they won't be stolen by others in order to get better search engine rankings and such. Cloaking programs and scripts can be expensive and also some search engines recogonize cloaking scripts and may not index sites using them.

What Is Mirroring?
Mirroring is simply copying a page or site over and over and renaming it as something different.

What's A Warning/Entrance Page?
This is the entrance page to your site. Most link list and such require a warning page. A waring page is pretty simply a page that states that a surfer has reached a site which contains adult content and that they must be of legal age to continue and enter. A warning page usually also consist of a "exit" link somewhere also for the surfer to leave if they choose to do so.

What's Multiple Entrance Pages?
These are simply exact copies of the entrance/warning page, copied and renamed as other pages. Such as index.html, index.htm, warning,htm, warning.html, and so on. Multiple entrance pages are usually used for the purpose of being able to have multiple links. Example: You have a entrance page with 6 link list links on it. If you copy this page 4 times and rename it, as stated above, you now have 5 entrance pages. You can then have 6 different links on each page giving you a total of 30 links vice the original 6.

What's A Pic Post?
A pic post (picture post) is a site which list pictures vice sites. A webmaster can submit a sample picture from there site to a pic post. If accepted this picture will be presented on there site and linked to your site. So if a surfer likes the pic they simply click it and come to your site.
