Enhancing Lipstick in Photoshop

by BarryHilton, Adult NetSurprise

Taking the time to enhance Lipstick in Photoshop can give you a much more sexy and suitable photo for use in tours, logos, splash pages or a special place on your site. We'll start this tutorial with our original photo...

We want to make her lips stand out more with a darker, more brown, lipstick along with adding lip liner to give definition to her lips. Start by selection the 'Lasso Marquee' tool from the main tool bar. Give the Lasso a Feather of 1 pixel and draw carefully around the inside of her lips, leaving a small gap around the edge that will become our lip liner. Once you have done this... Press Ctrl+C to copy your selection, then Ctrl+V to paste it to another layer above the photo of your girl.

Now we are going to make your lip liner... First, select the original photo by clicking on it's layer in the Layers menu. Then, still using a Feather on 1 pixel draw around the edge of her lips, making sure that you select all her original lipstick. Then press Ctrl+C to copy your selection, then Ctrl+V to paste it to another layer above the photo of your girl. This layer should be sandwiched between your orininal photo and the lipstick layer you made above.

No we're going to alter the color of the lipstick! In our example we are using two options to alter the color... Firstly, select the lipstick layer by clicking on it's layer in the layer's menu, use Hue/Saturation (Image > Adjust > Hue/Saturation), moving the Hue slidebar slightly to the right making the lipstick color a light red/brown. Then we use the Levels adjustment (Image > Adjust > Levels), sliding the middle grey arrow of the 'Input Levels' to the right to make the lipstick darker. You can use any of the different ways to alter the color, experimenting to find which is the best for the result you want.

Lastly we are going to adjust the color of our lip liner layer, select the lipstick layer by clicking on it's layer in the layer's menu then repeat the same steps for the Lipstick layer, but on the Levels adjustment, slide the middle grey arrow of the 'Input Levels' further to the right, which will make the lip liner a darker shade and give her lips definition.

Below is the finished enhancement compared to the original, with much darker, sexier lips!
